Elm City, NC — The tight-knit community of Elm City is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Patrick “Logan” Roberson, who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the age of 36.
Born in Nash County on February 25, 1989, Logan was known by those closest to him as a good, kindhearted, and caring man — the sort of person who would do anything for those he loved. He was a proud graduate of Southern Nash High School, where he spent his youth playing sports and building lifelong friendships. A devoted sports fan, he could often be found watching his favorite teams or casting a fishing line into the water, enjoying the quiet moments that brought him peace.
Above all else, Logan was a loving and dedicated father. His daughter, Natalie, was the center of his world, and those who knew him say his face lit up whenever he spoke of her. His family describes him as a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend — a man whose gentle spirit and deep loyalty touched the lives of many.
Logan’s passing leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of his surviving family, including his daughter Natalie Roberson; his parents, Phyllis Jefferson Chafin and James Irvin “Jimmy” Roberson; brothers, Wesley and Matthew Roberson; step-sisters, Ashley Facer (Ryan) and Alex Chafin; nieces, LeAnn and Avery Roberson; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Chris Chafin; his maternal grandparents, James Horace Jefferson and Peggy Jefferson Moore Hill; and his paternal grandparents, Herman Brinkley Roberson and Mae Lancaster Roberson.
A memorial service celebrating Logan’s life will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home in Rocky Mount, NC, with Rev. Steve Webb officiating. Visitation with the family will take place prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the Atrium.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Logan’s memory to the Greenville Comprehensive Treatment Center, 622 S. Memorial Drive, Greenville, NC 27834 — a tribute to his journey and a way to help others in need.
As the community gathers to remember him, those who loved Logan will hold close the memory of his warm smile, his big heart, and the countless ways he made life brighter for the people around him. Though gone too soon, Patrick “Logan” Roberson will never be forgotten.
