18-Year-Old Edub Fatally Shot in Northeast Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A devastating tragedy has struck the Bakersfield community after 18-year-old Edub was fatally shot early Sunday morning, October 5, 2025, in a northeast Bakersfield neighborhood.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department (BPD), officers responded to reports of gunfire around 12:55 a.m. in the 3400 block of Meadow Vista Court. Upon arrival, they found the young victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, Edub was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have obtained surveillance footage of a vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting and are working diligently to identify suspects. Witnesses in the area have been interviewed, and BPD is urging anyone with information to come forward.

The normally quiet neighborhood has been left shaken. Residents reported being startled by the sound of gunfire in the early morning hours, struggling to grasp the reality of such violence happening so close to home.
