Iron Mountain Community Remembers Ernest “Buck” Hisel, Who Passed Peacefully After Brave Cancer Battle

BUCKHOLTS, Texas — The Buckholts community is mourning the loss of Linda Lehua Penaroza, who passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 23, at the age of 80.

Linda was known for her spirited personality, her steadfast faith, and the unwavering devotion she carried for her family, friends, and community. For 39 years, she worked as a dedicated heavy equipment operator at Arco Bell, where her strong work ethic and determination earned the respect of her colleagues. Outside of work, Linda’s deep faith guided her life. As a proud member of Temple Christian Center for 35 years, she served with love and grace, inspiring those around her with her example.

Friends and family recall her generosity, her kindness, and her feisty nature that could light up a room. Her favorite hymn, “The Old Rugged Cross,” reflected her devotion and the strength of her faith, which remained unshaken throughout her life.

Loved by many, Linda leaves behind a legacy of resilience, service, and love that will continue to uplift and guide those fortunate enough to have known her
