Letterkenny Mourns the Tragic Passing of Tommy Connors

WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. — The Warrick County community is reeling after the heartbreaking death of 12-year-old Allison Lowery, a Castle South Middle School student, who was struck and killed by a semi-truck while riding her bicycle on Tuesday evening, September 23, 2025.

Authorities confirmed the tragic accident occurred just as Allison was heading home. Despite immediate emergency response, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene, leaving family, friends, classmates, and neighbors devastated by the sudden loss.

Allison was known for her bright spirit, infectious smile, and kindness that touched everyone who knew her. Teachers and classmates remember her as a hardworking, compassionate student who brought joy into the classroom and encouragement to her peers.

“Our hearts are shattered,” one neighbor shared. “She was such a sweet, joyful girl — always riding her bike, always smiling. This is a loss felt by our whole community.”

Castle South Middle School has announced grief counselors will be available to students and staff in the days ahead as the school mourns one of its own. Vigils and memorial tributes are already being planned, as friends and family gather to honor Allison’s memory and support her grieving loved ones.

The Warrick County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the accident.

For now, the community remembers Allison Lowery not for the tragedy of her passing, but for the love, light, and laughter she brought to those around her during her short but meaningful life.

She was just 12 years old.
