Beloved Oklahoma Educator Tiffani Gallagher Remembered for Lifelong Dedication to Students and Family 💔

MEDFORD, Okla. — Family, friends, students, and colleagues across western Oklahoma are mourning the loss of Tiffani Dawn (Smith) Gallagher, a devoted educator and counselor who passed away on March 3, 2026, at the age of 55.

Born on January 28, 1971, in Weatherford, Oklahoma, Tiffani was the daughter of Donald Ray and Linda Jan (Saunders) Smith. She grew up in Weatherford and graduated from Weatherford High School in 1989 before continuing her education at Clarendon College, where she played basketball. She later returned to Weatherford to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where she pursued a degree in Elementary Education.

During the spring of 1994, Tiffani met Brandon Corey Gallagher, the man who would become her husband. The couple married on June 16, 1995, at First United Methodist Church in Weatherford and built a life together rooted in family and service. Tiffani graduated from SWOSU in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and soon began her teaching career in Cyril, Oklahoma.

Over the years, Tiffani’s passion for education shaped the lives of countless students. She and Brandon later moved to Enid, where both taught at Pioneer-Pleasant Vale Schools. During their time there, they welcomed two children, Bode in 2002 and Piper in 2005, raising their family in Enid for 17 years.

Tiffani continued her commitment to education after the family relocated to Cordell, Oklahoma. While teaching at Cordell Public Schools, she earned a master’s degree in Educational School Counseling in 2019 and later served as the counselor for Cordell High School. She went on to work as the counselor at Watonga High School for four years and earned a second master’s degree in School Psychometry. Along the way, she also shared her expertise with college students, teaching Intro to Psychology at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and graduate-level education courses at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

Most recently, Tiffani had returned to the classroom, teaching second grade in Medford, where she continued to inspire young learners with her compassion and dedication.

Outside of her professional life, Tiffani found joy in reading, cooking, and spending time at the beach or the lake. Above all, she treasured moments spent with family and friends, who remember her for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Smith, and sister-in-law, Carrie Moore.

Tiffani is survived by her husband, Brandon Gallagher; their children, Bode and Piper Gallagher; her mother, Linda Smith; brother Garrett Smith and his wife Laura; sister Sydney Ward and her husband Abenicio; her parents-in-law, Don and Paula Gallagher; sister-in-law Tammy Eberle and her husband Frank; brother-in-law Dusty Moore; close family friend Greg Morley; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended loved ones.

A memorial service honoring Tiffani’s life will be held Monday, March 9, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Weatherford, with Rev. Allen Carson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
