Greater Mankato Community Rallies Around Fox Family After Tragic Loss of Landon Fox

Campus Community Devastated by Sudden Loss of First-Year Student Jaden Oschner

MANKATO, Minn. — The greater Mankato community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Landon Fox, who tragically passed away on Sunday, February 22, leaving behind a grieving family known for its deep commitment to serving others.

Landon was the son of Karen Fox, chair of United Way’s Grow United Committee, and the older brother of Adrianna Fox, a founding member of United Way’s YOUTH UNITED Committee. Friends say the Fox family has long been a pillar of compassion and generosity in the region, making the loss especially painful for a community accustomed to seeing them give so much to others.

In response to the tragedy, neighbors and supporters have organized a Meal Train to help ease daily burdens as the family navigates their grief. Community members are signing up to provide meals, send gift cards, and share messages of encouragement — small acts of kindness meant to reflect the love and care the Fox family has always extended to others.

“This is a family that has given their time, energy, and heart to this community,” one supporter shared. “Now it’s our turn to show up for them.”

As prayers and condolences continue to pour in, the greater Mankato area stands united in support, determined to surround the Fox family with compassion during a time of unimaginable loss.
