Thomas Robert Palaio, 23, Identified as Man Killed by SEPTA Train on West Trenton Line; Investigation Ongoing

Bucks County, Pennsylvania — Authorities have identified 23-year-old Thomas Robert Palaio as the man who died after being struck by a SEPTA train on the West Trenton Line, according to the Bucks County Coroner’s Office. The tragic incident has prompted an active investigation, with officials stating that the cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.

Emergency responders were called to the scene following reports of a person being hit by a train. Service on the line was disrupted for several hours as law enforcement and transit officials conducted their response and initial inquiry. SEPTA has expressed condolences and said it is cooperating fully with investigators.

Palaio had previously been in the public eye due to legal proceedings. In March 2025, he was arrested in Middletown Township for failing to comply with Megan’s Law requirements as a sexually violent predator, following the execution of a search warrant at a local residence. In earlier cases dating back to 2022, he faced charges related to sexual assault and child pornography and was later apprehended in Tennessee by U.S. Marshals after leaving the area.

Despite that history, officials emphasized that the circumstances surrounding Friday’s fatal incident remain under review. No additional details have been released as investigators work to determine what led up to the collision.

As the investigation continues, authorities ask the public to allow space for the process and for all affected by the incident. Further updates will be provided once the coroner’s office completes its findings.
