Snowbird Mourns Irreplaceable Loss: Beloved Patrol Director Tina “Ma Biddle” Biddle Passes Away

Snowbird, UT — The Snowbird community is wrapped in profound grief following the heartbreaking announcement of the passing of Tina Biddle, the resort’s beloved Patrol Director and one of the most influential and cherished figures in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

For more than two decades, Tina was the heart of the mountain — a leader, mentor, and friend whose devotion to the outdoors and unwavering dedication to her team earned her deep respect across the skiing community. Beginning her Snowbird journey in 2001, she quickly became known as one of the hardest-working patrollers on the slopes, a reputation she upheld with pride, grit, and an unmatched work ethic.

In 2017, Tina stepped into the role of Patrol Director, a position in which she thrived. Affectionately known as “Ma Biddle,” she cared for more than 80 patrollers with the warmth and protectiveness of a den mother. Colleagues say she led not only with strength, but with heart — guiding, supporting, and inspiring those around her every single day.

Tina was often the first out the door, eager to work the mountain she loved so dearly. Whether navigating difficult terrain, mentoring new patrollers, or simply embracing the quiet beauty of dawn on the slopes, she found her greatest joy in the rugged, breathtaking landscape of Snowbird.

Her absence leaves an immeasurable void. Friends and coworkers say they will carry her memory with them as they ski the zones she cherished, vowing to continue spreading the love, unity, and passion she instilled in the community.

“Our hearts are with Tina’s husband, Matt,” the resort shared in a statement. “May you rest in peace, Tina. Snowbird loves you.”

As the community mourns, it also honors a remarkable life — one rooted in service, adventure, leadership, and a boundless love for the mountains she called home.
