NEW LONDON, WI — The New London community is grieving the unexpected loss of Michele “Mick” Marie Egan, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the age of 57. Known for her radiant spirit, boundless energy, and deep love for the outdoors, Mick leaves behind a legacy of joy, connection, and unwavering kindness.
Born on December 14, 1967, to Charlie and Sally (Kottke) Jepson, Mick grew up with a natural zest for life—a spark that would come to define her role in every community she touched. She later married the love of her life, Tom Egan, and for nearly 22 years the two built a beautiful life together along the peaceful shores of the Wolf River. Their home, full of warmth, laughter, and open doors, became a gathering place for friends and family alike.
Mick embodied what it meant to live fully. Whether she was out gardening, boating on the river, deer hunting at dawn, watching birds from the porch, teeing up on the golf course, or racing down a snowy hill on skis, she embraced every moment with joy and enthusiasm. Her love for cooking—especially for others—made her kitchen a place where stories were shared, memories were made, and the people she loved were nourished in more ways than one.
For 34 years, Mick thrived as an independent hair stylist, a career that perfectly matched her outgoing personality and her genuine interest in people’s lives. Her gift of conversation, quick humor, and willingness to lend a helping hand built a vast network of friends, clients, and acquaintances who became like extended family. Many say she had a rare way of making every person she met feel seen, valued, and at home.
Mick’s sudden passing leaves a profound emptiness in the lives of those who loved her. She is survived by her devoted husband, Tom; her cherished daughter, Olivia Egan; her sister, Jennifer (Mike) Popke; her parents, Charlie and Sally Jepson; niece Sophie (Brady) Huettner; nephew Seth Forbes; brother-in-law Stan Forbes; and dear friends Lois Hertzfeldt and Linda Lind, along with countless others whose lives she brightened.
A Funeral Service honoring Mick’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the start of the service.
As loved ones gather to celebrate a life so vibrantly lived, the community remembers Mick not for the tragedy of her passing, but for the joy, laughter, and light she brought into the world—gifts that will continue to echo through the many hearts she touched.
