Man Fatally Shot in Long Beach, Police Seek Suspect

Authorities in Long Beach are searching for a suspect following a deadly shooting late Thursday evening.
Police responded to reports of gunfire near the 5300 block of Cherry Avenue at approximately 9:45 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
The shooter had fled the scene before police arrived, and no suspect description has been released. Further details regarding a possible motive or the events leading up to the shooting have not been disclosed.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the L.A. County Department of the Medical Examiner.
