Smiths Station, AL — The Smiths Station community is heartbroken following the sudden passing of Anthony Levi Hodge, a devoted husband, father, and friend whose warmth and generosity left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him. Anthony passed away on October 19, 2025, at just 34 years old, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will be cherished forever.

Born on August 1, 1991, in Columbus, Georgia, Anthony was the beloved son of Timothy Wyatt Hodge and the late Athena Leola (Grow) Hodge. He grew up surrounded by family and faith, values that shaped the caring and compassionate man he would become.

Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Cassie Lynne Johnson, and their two young children, Avery and Wyatt — the pride and joy of his life. Known for his patience, humor, and gentle spirit, Anthony was the kind of father who made ordinary days feel special and who found endless happiness in the laughter of his children.

He is also survived by his father, Timothy Hodge, and brothers, Brandon Jinright and Wayne Hodge. He was preceded in death by his mother, Athena, and brother, Jonathan Jinright. His extended family — nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends — will remember him for his kindness, his easy smile, and his unwavering love for those around him.

A proud graduate of Smiths Station High School, Anthony carried his strong work ethic and love for people into his career. His passion for cooking led him to work at Waffle House before joining the talented culinary teams at Loft and Mabella’s in downtown Columbus, where his creativity and skill earned the admiration of colleagues and customers alike.

Outside the kitchen, Anthony’s zest for life shined brightest. Whether he was cheering for his favorite Alabama football team, grilling out with loved ones, or mud riding in his truck, he brought joy and laughter wherever he went. Music was also a constant in his life — a passion he passed on to his children, teaching them to find beauty and rhythm in every moment.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. ET at Colonial Funeral Home in Phenix City. A funeral service celebrating Anthony’s life will follow on Friday, October 24, at 2:00 p.m. ET at the same location.

Anthony Hodge will be remembered not only for his talents and hard work but for his heart — a heart that loved deeply, gave freely, and made life brighter for those who knew him. His family and friends take comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on through the many lives he touched.

May his memory forever be a blessing, and may his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
