Syracuse Mourns the Tragic Loss of Joseph Castillo in Late-Night Violence


SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse community is left heartbroken following the tragic death of Joseph Castillo, 40, who was fatally injured in a senseless act of violence on the city’s Southside late Tuesday night. Castillo’s passing has cast a somber shadow over neighbors, friends, and family who are struggling to come to terms with the sudden and devastating loss.
Authorities swiftly responded to the incident, and through dedicated investigative work, they identified and arrested 41-year-old Lakeeyah May of Syracuse. May was taken into custody without incident on October 16 in the 500 block of West Brighton Avenue.
