Around 9:40 a.m., officers with the Durham Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 1000 block of North Miami Boulevard. Upon arrival, they found Burnette suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency crews immediately rendered aid and transported him to a nearby hospital.
