FORKLAND, Ala. — The Forkland community is reeling after the tragic loss of Boris Moody, 31, whose life was cut short in a fatal shooting on Monday, October 6, 2025, in Greene County. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) confirmed that Boris was the victim of this heartbreaking incident, which has left his loved ones and neighbors in deep grief.
According to ALEA, Special Agents with the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) launched a homicide investigation at the request of the Forkland Police Department after officers were called to the Dollar General near the 13000 block of US-43. Upon arrival, officers discovered Boris suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the tireless efforts of first responders, he was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities later identified Jamal Lee, 28, of Demopolis, as the suspect. Lee has been charged with murder and is currently being held in the Greene County Jail, with additional charges possible as the investigation continues. Upon completion, the case will be turned over to the Greene County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
