Nation Mourns Fallen IAF Pilots Anuj and Purvesh Duragkar in Sukhoi Su-30MKI Crash

The nation is grieving the tragic loss of IAF pilots Anuj and Purvesh Duragkar, who died when their Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jet crashed during a routine training mission in the Karbi Anglong district of Assam. The aircraft lost contact with Jorhat Airbase shortly before the crash, prompting an urgent search and rescue operation.

The pilots, both highly trained and courageous, were part of a routine exercise when communication with ground control was suddenly lost. Local authorities and rescue teams reached the crash site in the hilly terrain of Karbi Anglong, where the wreckage confirmed the deaths of the two officers. The challenging conditions made rescue efforts extremely difficult, underscoring the risks faced by military personnel even during peacetime operations.

The Su-30MKI, one of the Indian Air Force’s most advanced fighter jets, plays a critical role in India’s air defence. The loss of the Duragkar brothers has deeply affected the armed forces and citizens alike, with tributes pouring in from across the country honoring their bravery, dedication, and service to the nation.

The Indian Air Force has expressed profound sorrow over the incident and announced a Court of Inquiry to determine the exact cause of the crash. Families, colleagues, and fellow citizens are united in mourning, remembering the pilots as heroes who gave their lives in service to India.

Om Shanti. The nation stands in gratitude and sorrow for the sacrifice of Anuj and Purvesh Duragkar. Their courage and commitment will not be forgotten.
