The town of Shrewsbury is grieving the loss of Matthew Thomas “Matt” Wilson of Telford Estate, who passed away peacefully at the Severn Hospice on February 16, 2026, at the age of 49.

Matt was a devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle, remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the love he shared with family and friends. His passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of those closest to him.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at Emstrey Crematorium in Shrewsbury on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., where guests are encouraged to wear sport tops or a splash of colour in tribute to his vibrant spirit. The family has requested donations to be made to the Severn Hospice in lieu of flowers, honoring the care and support he received.
