VANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities in Vance County are continuing a heartbreaking investigation after two teenage siblings were found deceased inside their Torri Drive home on the night of Feb. 9, officials confirmed.
According to the Vance County Sheriff’s Office, the victims — a 13-year-old girl and her 17-year-old brother — were discovered at the residence where four juvenile siblings lived together. The cause of death for both teenagers remains undetermined pending autopsy and toxicology results from the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division said the children shared the home with two other siblings, ages 12 and 16, as well as their father, who was present at the time of the tragedy. Authorities emphasized that there is currently no known threat to the public.
Detectives are working closely with the District Attorney’s Office and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to determine exactly what led to the devastating deaths.
