Brandon Dickerson Receives 50 Years for Murder of Alexis Walls

BRYAN, Texas — A Bryan courtroom was filled with grief and solemn reflection on February 3, 2026, as 30-year-old Brandon Dickerson was sentenced to 50 years in prison for the murder of his partner, 23-year-old Alexis Walls — a young mother whose life was taken in a brutal act of violence last year.

Walls was shot 15 times on February 7, 2025, inside a residence in the 500 block of East 18th Street. According to police reports, Dickerson called 911 around 12:40 a.m., telling dispatchers he had just killed Walls, claiming he suspected her of infidelity. Officers arrived to find a devastating scene that would forever alter the lives of those who loved her.

Inside the home at the time of the shooting was the couple’s 18-month-old son. Authorities confirmed the child was unharmed physically, though the emotional impact of that night will linger for years to come.

In court, the weight of the loss was evident as family members remembered Alexis not as a victim defined by tragedy, but as a vibrant young woman full of warmth and compassion. Loved ones described her as a devoted mother, a loving daughter, and a loyal friend whose smile could light up a room. Those who knew her said she had a gift for bringing joy and kindness to everyone she encountered.

District Attorney Jarvis Parsons addressed the court, emphasizing that while justice has been served through the sentencing, nothing can restore what was taken. He noted that Alexis’s legacy lives on through her young son, Zaylen, who is now being raised by her parents. “Her life mattered,” Parsons said. “Her memory will endure through her child and through every person she touched.”

The 50-year sentence ensures Dickerson will spend decades behind bars, but for Alexis’s family, the pain of her absence remains immeasurable. The Bryan community continues to mourn the loss of a young woman whose future was filled with promise.

As loved ones hold tight to memories of her laughter, strength, and love for her son, they say Alexis Walls will always be remembered not for the violence that ended her life, but for the light she brought into the world.
