Born on July 27, 1979, Melissa was adopted by Robert and Irene Miller and grew up alongside her brothers, Mark and Timothy, in Mount Prospect. A lifelong animal lover, Melissa found her true calling as a dog groomer, delighting in her work with Golden Retrievers and participating in dog shows and agility events with her mother. Her home was always filled with the joyful presence of her dogs, including her cherished Golden Retriever, Stanley. She also had a special love for horses, especially her horse Monty, whose memory she treasured.
Melissa was a devoted mother to her son, Carter Stephen Gould, and daughter, Piper Irene Miller, and cherished every moment spent with them. She shared a deep and enduring love with her husband, Robert “Bobby” Miller, who stood by her as her soulmate and partner. Family and friends describe Melissa as “tough as nails,” “funny,” “magnetic,” and “a true queen,” words that only begin to capture her spirit. A memorial service to celebrate Melissa’s life will be held from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM on February 10, 2026, at Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, with the Memorial Service commencing at 6:00 PM. Melissa’s family invites friends and community members to honor her memory and legacy.
