New Britain Mourns the Loss of Alderman Jerrell Hargraves, a Tireless Champion for Equity and Community

The City of New Britain is grieving the profound loss of Alderman Jerrell Hargraves, a devoted public servant whose life’s work was rooted in service, fairness, and an unwavering love for the community he called home.

For more than a decade, Hargraves served as an Alderman, earning respect across City Hall as a thoughtful, principled, and tireless advocate for the people of New Britain. In addition to his elected role, Hargraves dedicated more than 21 years as a City employee.
