The Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Dr. Tyler Newton, a respected veterinarian, devoted father, and cherished member of the equine medical community. His passing has left colleagues, clients, and friends stunned, as memories pour in of a professional whose compassion matched his clinical skill.
Dr. Newton began his veterinary journey at Alamo Pintado as an intern after graduating from the University of California, Davis, in 2014. What started as an internship quickly grew into a lasting relationship, as he remained with the practice for several years as an associate veterinarian. During that time, he earned a reputation for his dedication to his patients, his calm presence in difficult moments, and his genuine kindness toward everyone he worked with.
Colleagues describe Tyler as an integral part of the Alamo family—someone whose passion for equine medicine was evident in every case he touched. Beyond the clinic, he was known for his warmth, humility, and deep love for his family. Later, he moved with his wife and children to Bend, Oregon, where he continued his life and career surrounded by those he loved most.
The loss of Dr. Newton is being felt far beyond the walls of the clinic. Alamo Pintado staff, along with the wider veterinary and equestrian communities, have expressed their sorrow and offered prayers and support to his family as they face an unimaginably difficult time.
To help ease the financial burden on Dr. Newton’s loved ones, a GoFundMe account has been established in his memory. Those who knew Tyler say contributing is one small way to honor a man who gave so much of himself to others and whose legacy of compassion will not be forgotten.
