Toronto, ON — A tragic house fire that shocked a quiet Toronto neighborhood last month has now led to a first-degree murder charge after the elderly victim succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

Police announced that a 34-year-old Toronto man has been arrested and charged in connection with the blaze that occurred on November 15 near Avenue Road and Boswell Avenue. According to investigators, the suspect allegedly went to the home that morning and intentionally set the residence on fire.
