LOUISVILLE, KY — The Louisville community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Jaeveon Joseph Hart, a bright and beloved 17-year-old senior at Waggener High School, whose life was tragically cut short this week.

Known for his kind heart, quiet strength, and remarkable determination, Jaeveon was admired by classmates, teachers, and coaches alike. Friends describe him as a young man with a radiant smile and a spirit far beyond his years — someone who lifted others up and brought light into every room he entered.

“Jaeveon was the kind of student every teacher hopes to have,” said one of his instructors at Waggener High. “He was driven, respectful, and always willing to help others. His loss is one that will be deeply felt across our school community.”

As news of his passing spread, an outpouring of grief and remembrance flooded social media, with classmates sharing photos, heartfelt messages, and memories of his kindness and humor. The Jefferson County Public Schools district has offered its condolences to the Hart family and made grief counselors available on campus to support students and staff.

“Jaeveon had so much potential — he was bright, compassionate, and deeply loved,” said a close friend. “It just doesn’t seem real that he’s gone.”

A memorial for Jaeveon is being planned by the school community to celebrate his life and the positive impact he made during his 17 years.
