Ashland Community Mourns the Loss of Beloved Nail Technician Mompida “Pida” Hay

ASHLAND, KY — The Ashland community is grieving the sudden loss of Mompida “Pida” Hay, 42, who passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Born on August 5, 1983, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Pida was the cherished son of Sar Sa Hay and Heng Sreychea.

Pida was widely known for his warm personality, dedication to his craft, and the joy he brought to those around him. He worked as a nail technician at Jaylee Nails in Ashland, where clients and colleagues alike admired his skill, professionalism, and the care he showed to everyone he met.

Beyond his work, Pida was recognized for his generosity, kindness, and his ability to brighten the lives of friends, family, and neighbors. His presence in the community was a source of comfort and joy, and his untimely passing has left a profound void for all who knew him.
