The Corpus Christi community is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Esteban “Stevie” Garza IV, who passed away unexpectedly at just 20 years old. A proud UTSA Roadrunner and dedicated EMT, Stevie was known for his adventurous spirit, generous heart, and unwavering commitment to helping others.
Friends and family describe Stevie as a young man full of life — always smiling, always ready to lend a hand. Whether it was through his work in emergency medical services or his everyday interactions, he carried an energy that uplifted everyone around him.

Outside of his studies and EMT work, Stevie found joy in the thrill of motorcycle rides and cherished the time he spent surrounded by loved ones. His presence brought warmth and laughter to every gathering, leaving behind memories that will be treasured forever.
As his family faces this unimaginable loss, they are reaching out for community support to help manage funeral expenses and honor Stevie’s life. Vigils and memorials are being planned in both Corpus Christi and San Antonio to celebrate the young man whose kindness, courage, and compassion touched so many hearts.
