Leavittsburg Mourns Dennis Eugene Frederick, 71


Leavittsburg, OH — Dennis Eugene Frederick, a devoted teacher, coach, guidance counselor, and lifelong pillar of the Leavittsburg community, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, at the age of 71, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 14, 1954, in Warren, Ohio, to JoAnn and the late Paul Frederick, Dennis spent his entire life in Leavittsburg, shaping the lives of countless students and athletes through decades of dedication and mentorship. A proud graduate of LaBrae High School, he returned to his alma mater to devote his career to education, leaving an indelible mark on generations of young people.
Dennis’s influence extended far beyond academics and athletics. Known for his kindness, patience, and selfless nature, he fostered a sense of community wherever he went. Whether coaching on the field, advising in the classroom, or simply sharing his wisdom with friends and family, Dennis’s presence was a source of warmth and guidance.
He shared 43 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Teresa Frederick, and together they raised two sons, Mathew and Jason, who were the pride of his life. Dennis delighted in his grandchildren — Brennix, Colston, and Camila — and cherished every moment cheering them on, playing games, or simply being their unwavering supporter.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Dennis loved bringing people together, whether through family gatherings, cookouts, or evenings filled with laughter and games. His home and heart were always open to friends, family, and community members alike.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Teresa; his sons, Mathew and Jason (Lindsay); his grandchildren, Brennix, Colston, and Camila; his mother, JoAnn Frederick; and his brother, Keith Frederick (Billie). He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Frederick, his sister, Carol Frederick, and daughter-in-law, Sara Frederick.
Cremation has taken place. Calling hours will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to LaBrae C/O the Frank Hillman Scholarship, 1001 North Road, Leavittsburg, OH 44430, in his memory.
Dennis Eugene Frederick will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but, more importantly, for the love, guidance, and unwavering presence he provided to all who knew him. His legacy of compassion, friendship, and devotion will live on in the hearts of his family, students, and community.
