USF Mourns the Heartbreaking Loss of Beloved Kappa Sister, Michelle Hua

The University of South Florida community is mourning the tragic and untimely passing of Michelle Hua, a cherished member of the Kappa Alpha Class and a devoted sister of the USF Kappas. Her sudden loss has left classmates, friends, and fraternity members heartbroken, as they remember a young woman whose kindness, compassion, and radiant spirit touched everyone she met.
Michelle was more than a student — she was a leader, a friend, and a source of light for those around her. Known for her warm smile and unwavering dedication to her sisters, she embodied the true meaning of unity and service that the Kappas hold dear. Whether organizing events, offering words of encouragement, or lending a listening ear, Michelle’s presence was a constant reminder of the strength and love within the USF community.
“Michelle had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued,” said one of her sorority sisters. “She brought joy wherever she went — her laughter filled every room, and her heart was as big as her dreams.”
As word of her passing spreads, tributes have poured in from across campus. Friends and faculty describe her as an exceptional student and a compassionate soul whose drive and empathy left a lasting impact.
The Kappa family and the broader USF community are coming together to honor Michelle’s memory through vigils, moments of reflection, and acts of service — the very values she lived by every day.
While her time was far too short, Michelle Hua’s spirit will forever remain a part of USF. Her legacy — one of kindness, sisterhood, and boundless love — will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten
