Grief is rippling across the close-knit towns of New Rockford, Maddock, Leeds, and Harvey following the devastating loss of Tucker Faul, a bright and beloved student at New Rockford-Sheyenne/Maddock High School. A member of the Class of 2026, Tucker passed away Sunday evening, October 19, following a tragic vehicle crash near Minnewaukan.
He was just 17 years old.
Tucker’s passing has left a deep ache in the hearts of family, friends, classmates, and community members who knew him not only as a dedicated student but as a loyal friend, a teammate, and a young man full of promise. Known for his big heart, quiet kindness, and strong spirit, Tucker touched countless lives — both in and beyond the school halls.
“He had a way of making people feel like they mattered,” said one classmate. “Even if you didn’t know him well, you knew he was someone special.”
At school, Tucker was involved in multiple activities and was admired by teachers and peers alike for his work ethic and respectful character. Outside the classroom, he enjoyed the simple joys of North Dakota life — whether it was time spent with family, being outdoors, or supporting his school and friends with quiet pride.
The news of his sudden passing has cast a shadow over the region, where tight bonds and shared values connect generations of families. Vigils and gatherings are already forming in his memory, as the community comes together to support one another in shared sorrow.
School officials and counselors are providing resources for grieving students, and area churches are expected to hold services in the coming days. A memorial service and obituary are expected to be announced soon by the family.
In times like these, words often fall short. But what remains is the echo of Tucker’s light — a life gone far too soon, but never forgotten.
He is survived by his loving family, his classmates, and the many who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Rest in peace, Tucker. You are missed beyond measure.
