Canfield Grieves the Tragic Loss of Trooper Nicholas P. Cayton


CANFIELD, Ohio — A deep sense of sorrow has fallen over Canfield and across the state of Ohio as the community mourns the heartbreaking loss of Trooper Nicholas P. Cayton of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Trooper Cayton was tragically killed in the line of duty after being struck by a semi-truck on State Route 11, just south of U.S. 224, in Canfield.
Authorities say the incident occurred as Trooper Cayton was performing his sworn duty to protect and serve. Despite immediate emergency response efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
