LA Academy Middle School Shooting Leaves One Student Injured


SOUTH LOS ANGELES, Calif. — A frightening scene unfolded late Thursday morning at LA Academy Middle School, where gunfire erupted on campus, leaving one student injured and sparking a large-scale police response that sent the community into shock and fear.
The incident occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department, when multiple 911 calls reported shots fired on or near the school grounds. Officers rushed to the scene, locking down the campus and surrounding neighborhood as terrified students and staff sheltered in place.
One Student Injured, Condition Unknown
Authorities confirmed that one student was struck by gunfire and transported to a nearby hospital. The extent of the injuries has not yet been released. The student’s family has been notified, and counselors have been dispatched to support classmates and teachers who witnessed the chaos.
