Emergency Crews Respond to Skydiving Incident Near Ashland City Highway

Victim Identified In San Francisco Tragic Murder-Suicide Involving Mother and Son

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A skydiving accident near Ashland City Highway has prompted a large-scale emergency response as rescuers work to reach parachute jumpers in distress in a heavily wooded area.

According to officials with the Nashville Fire Department, one individual is currently suspended in a tree while a second jumper — reportedly part of the same tandem jump — became separated during the descent and has not yet been located. Crews described the rescue as a “high-angle operation” in a difficult-to-access area, roughly 2 to 3 miles from the nearest roadway.

Authorities say the condition of the jumpers remains unknown as emergency teams continue their search and rescue efforts.

Tandem skydiving, a popular choice for first-time participants, typically involves a novice jumper securely attached to an experienced instructor. Experts note it is exceedingly rare for a tandem pair to become separated during a descent, as modern equipment is designed with multiple redundant safety systems.

“This is a complex rescue in challenging terrain,” officials said. “Our teams are working as quickly and safely as possible to reach those in distress.”

As the search continues, the community is anxiously awaiting updates on the outcome of the rescue operation. Thoughts and prayers are with the individuals involved and the first responders working tirelessly to bring them to safety.
