KEWANEE, Ill. — The Kewanee community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Alec E. Dillender, 25, who passed away on September 30, 2025. Remembered for his zest for life, creativity, and unwavering support for those he loved, Alec leaves behind cherished memories that will continue to inspire family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Alec was a 2018 graduate of Kewanee High School and went on to pursue further studies at MTI in Moline. Known for his artistic soul, he poured his creativity into writing and music, where he found joy and expression. Beyond his talents, Alec’s humor and lighthearted nature made him a source of comfort and laughter for many.

“He always had a way of lifting people’s spirits,” one friend shared. “His kindness and humor touched everyone around him.”

His loss has left a deep void in the community, as loved ones gather to honor his life and reflect on the legacy he leaves behind. Friends and family remember him not only for his passions but for his authenticity, compassion, and ability to connect with people on a profound level.
