HAMSHIRE, Texas — The Hamshire-Fannett community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Jayleigh Moralez, a senior at Hamshire-Fannett High School and the cherished catcher of the Varsity Ladyhorns Softball Team. A proud member of the Class of 2025, Jayleigh’s life, though tragically cut short, has left an indelible mark on her family, teammates, classmates, and all who knew her.

Known for her strength behind the plate and her unwavering dedication to her team, Jayleigh was more than an athlete—she was a leader, a role model, and a friend. Her determination, courage, and love for the game inspired her teammates to give their all, while her smile and joyful spirit uplifted everyone around her.

Off the field, Jayleigh was remembered for her kindness, laughter, and compassion. Friends and classmates describe her as someone who always made time to listen, encourage, and brighten the lives of others.
